Abstract:
Constitutional control in the Republic of Croatia has deep historical roots. The Сonstitutional court of Croatia was established in the early 60-ies. However, it did not become a significant player in the constitutional field of Croatia, and could not be due to socialist principles of state mechanism organization of the republics of SFRY. Modern Constitutional court of the Republic of Croatia has been set after the independence of the Croatian State and it immediately became a prominent factor in the development of the constitutional process in the Republic of Croatia. Croatia's constitutional Court operates on the basis of the Constitution and the Constitutional law on the Constitutional court. According to article 2 of the Constitutional law, the constitutional Court is an independent body that guarantees the fulfillment of the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and public authorities, local governments, citizens and their associations. This article presents the analysis of legal regulation of the organization and activities of the Croatian Constitutional court.
