The article presents the analysis of activity of the penitentiary institutions in several countries of Western Europe, on the basis of which the proposed regulation on social and psychological work in them as constituent elements of a criminal Justice, which begins before the direction of imprisoned and continues for many of them, after their release. The content of the activities of the psychologist, including Diagnostics, psychocorrection and preventive work, the methods used. Considerable attention is paid to the disclosure and evaluation of individual and group programs for persons convicted of repeat offences. Submitted to the substantive aspect of forms of their realization those govern the work of psychologists, social workers and social pedagogues.
