INTERNATIONAL LEGAL STANDARDS FOR ENSURING RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF CITIZENS IN POLICE ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF COUNTERING TERRORIST CRIMES

Objective: the article considers the international legal standards of human and civil rights and freedoms, draws attention to the importance of international legal means, as well as institutions for the protection of human rights, including in the field of counteraction to crimes of terrorist orientation. Furthermore, the article points out that international humanitarian law sets out the direction for the development of national legislation on the protection of human rights. Methodology: the Field of study is generally recognized principles and norms of international law (international treaties), Russian legislation regulating the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, law enforcement practice, as well as scientific, practical and theoretical provisions related to ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens in the activities of the internal Affairs bodies of the Russian Federation. The methodological basis of the study is the dialectical method of scientific cognition, as well as comparative legal, system-structural, logical, historical and other private-scientific methods of research of legal phenomena. Conclusions: the scientific article contains the results suggesting on the basis of the legal analysis clarification of a number of provisions in ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens in the activities of the police in combating crimes of terrorist orientation.
