Abstract:
Objectives: the article reveals the role of clinical legal education in the process of practical training of the modern law students. The legal framework and problems of improvement of legal clinics as structural units of universities are analysed. Conclusions: normative legal regulation of organization and activities of legal clinics are insignificant in Russia to date. The existing laws and regulations do not provide for the obligation of the University to form legal clinics, and do not identify the requirements for their organizational form and content. Suggestions: the legal clinic should be a compulsory part of the educational program; more precise regulation of the status of legal clinics is needed, a solution to the problem of teachers` caseload in guiding the work of clinicians etc.
